1Paul, 1an apostle of 2ChristJesus[a]3by the will of God, To the [b]4saints who are [c]at 5Ephesus and 6who are faithful in 7ChristJesus:
2
8Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the LordJesusChrist.
3
9Blessed be the God and Father of our LordJesusChrist, who has blessed us with everyspiritualblessing in 10the heavenly places in Christ,
4
just as 11He chose us in Him before12the foundation of the world, that we would be 13holy and blamelessbefore[d]Him. 14In love
5
[e]He 15predestined us to 16adoption as sonsthroughJesusChrist to Himself, 17according to the [f]kindintention of His will,
6
18to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freelybestowed on us in 19the Beloved.
7
20In [g]Him we have21redemption22through His blood, the 23forgiveness of our trespasses, according to 24the riches of His grace
8
which He [h]lavished on [i]us. In allwisdom and insight
9
He [j]25madeknown to us the mystery of His will, 26according to His [k]kindintentionwhich He 27purposed in Him
10
with a view to an administration[l]suitable to 28the fullness of the times, that is, 29the summing up of allthings in Christ, things [m]in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him
11
[n]also we [o]30have obtained an inheritance, having been 31predestined32according to His purpose who worksallthings33after the counsel of His will,
12
to the end that we who were the first to hope in [p]Christ would be 34to the praise of His glory.
13
In [q]Him, you also, after listening to 35the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation -having also[r]believed, you were 36sealed in [s]Him with 37the HolySpirit of promise,
14
who is [t]38given as a pledge of 39our inheritance, with a view to the 40redemption of 41God's own possession, 42to the praise of His glory.
15
For thisreason I too, 43having heard of the faith in the LordJesus which exists among you and [u]your love for 44all the [v]saints,
16
45do not ceasegivingthanks for you, 46while makingmention of you in my prayers;
17
that the 47God of our LordJesusChrist, 48the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of 49wisdom and of 50revelation in the [w]knowledge of Him.
18
I pray that 51the eyes of your heart[x]may be enlightened, so that you will knowwhat is the 52hope of His 53calling, what are 54the riches of the glory of 55His inheritance in 56the [y]saints,
19
and what is the surpassinggreatness of His powertoward us who believe. 57These are in accordance with the working of the 58strength of His might
20
which He broughtabout in Christ, when He 59raised Him from the dead and 60seated Him at His righthand in 61the heavenly places,
21
farabove62allrule and authority and power and dominion, and every63name that is named, not only in 64thisage but also in the one to come.
22
And He 65putallthings in subjectionunder His feet, and gave Him as 66headoverallthings to the church,
23
which is His 67body, the 68fullness of Him who 69fills70all in all.
